Omar Samuel Pasley (born 3 September 1986), better known by his stage name OMI, is a Jamaican-born singer. OMI was born in the parish of Clarendon, Jamaica and is currently signed to Ultra Music, a part of Sony Music. n 2014, his ska style single "Cheerleader" was remixed by Felix Jaehn and has been a worldwide commercial success. It has topped the charts in several countries, including Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom. In the latter country, OMI made history on May 24, 2015, when "Cheerleader" topped the UK Singles Chart for the fourth week in a row, marking the longest consecutive period any Jamaican artist has held that position on the chart.[3] In the United States, the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number 95 in May 2015; it later became the singer's first top-ten hit in the country, charting at number two
